Terry Gregory

Research Associate - Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER)

Born in Germany, Terry Gregory studied economics at the University of Bonn and received his doctorate in economics from the University of Regensburg.

He is currently a Research Associate in the Labour Market department and Centre of Competence for Data Science and Simulation at LISER. In addition, he teaches courses on the Economics of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Stuttgart and holds a part-time position as Senior Researcher at the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim.

Previously, he led the Digital Transformation research group at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) in Bonn and worked as a Data Scientist in the Analytics division of REWE Group.

His research focuses on the effects of automation and digitalization on firms and labor markets, the causal evaluation of public policies and institutions, and the application of data science and machine learning methods. His work has been published in leading international journals such as the Journal of the European Economic Association and the Journal of Public Economics.

He has also provided policy advice to organizations such as the OECD, the European Commission, federal ministries, and expert commissions of the German Bundestag on labor markets and digital transformation.
