Simon Gorbutt is Deputy CEO at Luxembourg for Finance, the Agency for the Development of the Financial Centre, and has worked in Luxembourg’s financial sector since 2007.

Before joining LFF, Simon held senior leadership roles in wealth planning and structuring within the life insurance industry, leading international teams at the intersection of private banking, asset management, succession planning, and insurance.

A Solicitor qualified in England, Wales, and Ireland, he is also an IoD-qualified Director, Certified Expert in Sustainable Finance, and Certified Digital Asset Adviser. A founding member and Board member of STEP Benelux, Simon has served as its Chairman and remains actively engaged in industry leadership as a Board member of the Luxembourg Association of Family Offices and a member of the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance Gender Finance Task Force.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Edinburgh and a Master’s in Law. He has also lectured on the Master’s in Wealth Management at the University of Luxembourg and the International Management of Family Wealth programme at the International University of Monaco.
