Prof. Dr. Christof von Kalle was appointed as the Director of the Luxembourg Center for Translational Research (LCTR) at the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) in December 2024. With a distinguished career in translational oncology, gene therapy, and molecular medicine, he brings vast experience and visionary leadership to the role.

Previously he has served his founding director of the National Center Tumor Diseases (NCT) in Heidelberg, Germany and as the founding director of the Clinical Research Center at Charité Berlin and the Berlin Institute of Health. His focus is on advancing innovative research that directly translates scientific discoveries into patient care, especially in the areas of cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and autoimmune disorders.
