CEO - House of Startups

Professional:

In 2020, Philippe Linster became the CEO of the House of Startups (HoST). In this role, Philippe represents the institution and the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce on various boards, including the Luxembourg-City Incubator, Luxembourg Business Angels Network (LBAN), Luxinnovation, and the Digital Tech Fund.

The House of Startups (HoST), established by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in 2017, is a key player in the Luxembourg ecosystem. Its mission is to foster the development of startups and innovation while supporting the innovation needs of businesses.

The House of Startups’ inspiring innovation campus hosts a community of 3 incubators and accelerators, supporting up to 175 startups.

Furthermore, the community is surrounded by key ecosystem players available in-house, including among others fundraising (Luxembourg Business Angels Network), sustainability and climate finance (International Climate Finance Accelerator), startup advocacy (Pulse), education & STEM training (Luxembourg Tech School), scaling through strategic investments and venture capital (Gener8tor and Middlegame Ventures) and many more.

The HoST draws on a wide range of initiatives to amplify the impact of innovation on economic growth. It actively organizes local and international events, offering media visibility and high-quality networking, its Greater Region EU-Tribe initiative, and its presence at technology fairs.

The HoST promotes and encourages entrepreneurship among a broad audience through its ‘Startup Corner’, a Luxembourg podcast dedicated to startups and innovation.

Through its Luxembourg Open Innovation Club (LOIC), HoST promotes collaboration between big corporates and the innovation ecosystem. The HoST facilitates the creation of solutions by bringing together partners, companies, and other stakeholders in collective intelligence formats such as hackathons and barcamps.


Private:

Philippe is a passionate chess player and a member of the Luxembourg national team. He has represented Luxembourg at various European and World Championships, as well as several Chess Olympiads. In 2019, he was awarded the international chess title of "FIDE Master."

He has also been an international handball referee since 2014.
