Max Spielmann

Government Commissioner for data protection - Government of Luxembourg

Max Spielmann serves as the Government Commissioner for Data Protection to the Luxembourg State and is a member of the ministerial cabinet of the Minister for Digitalization, Stéphanie Obertin.
As Government Commissioner, he leads a dedicated administration to ensure the coherent application of data privacy laws across the public sector. He also provides strategic advice to the Government on data governance regulations, such as the GDPR, the Data Governance Act, the European Health Data Space Regulation and the AI Act.

As a graduate of the University of Luxembourg and the University of Strasbourg, Max holds a Master’s degree (LLM) in European Law with a specialization in new technologies law. He has successfully passed the Luxembourg 1st and 2nd Bar exams (“Avocat à la Cour”).
