Dr. Mark Lützner is a Policy Officer at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS), where he leads Service Security for IRIS2. He has combined deep technical insight with a passion for advancing Europe’s role in space.

As former head of the Satellite Systems Research Group at the German Aerospace Center, he led pioneering research on Earth observation and space asset protection.
