As Senior Vice President in charge of SES’s Space & Defence activities, Philippe Glaesener focuses on major institutional, governmental and defence stakeholders around the world, outside of the US.

Throughout his extensive career in the satellite communications industry, he has held various positions in sales, business development and strategic planning. He has played a key role in the development and implementation of major government initiatives, large-scale corporate projects, and satellite telecommunications services.

Philippe Glaesener’s professional experience is backed by Commercial as well as Electrical Engineering & Information Technology academic backgrounds in Paris (F) and Munich (D).

Philippe Glaesener is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of GovSat, a public-private partnership established between the Luxembourg government and SES to meet the growing demand for institutional networks in defence and security. He is a Board member of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce as well as of Luxembourg’s multisectoral business federation (FEDIL). Additionally, he has led said Chamber of Commerce’s Workgroup on Defence activities and chairs the Spacenet group of the NATO Industry Advisory Group (NIAG), which coordinates the efforts and interests of more than 300 space sector companies within NATO.
