Kyriacos Hatzaras

Programme Officer, EU Policies of Unit H3 - eHealth - European Commission

Kyriacos Hatzaras is a Programme Officer - EU Policies of Unit H3, eHealth, Wellbeing and Ageing with a focus on digital health and advanced technology policy and programmes, at the European Commission Directorate-General CNECT (Communication Networks, Content and Technology).

A Chartered Engineer with 25 years’ experience in science and technology, ICT system and service management, digital incl. AI-based innovation and regulatory compliance in healthcare delivery, clinical trials, and medical devices, he has held senior positions in industry, and fellowships at the Imperial College Business School and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

He has previously been a member of the EU-US Health IT Collaborative EHR Working Group, Health IT Lead at King’s College London, NIHR-funded researcher at the Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre, and Reviewer for the WHO Bulletin (Geneva, Switzerland).

He holds degrees in Electrical Engineering with Management from Imperial College London and European Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and delivers AI courses for young professionals in a philanthropy context.
